Jammu, (DD) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, emphasizing that dialogue with stakeholders will continue until the goal is achieved.
Addressing the inaugural day of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly’s budget session, LG Sinha assured that the government remains focused on strengthening grassroots democracy by conducting timely Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections across the Union Territory.
“The government is committed to restoring statehood to J&K. We will continue engaging with all stakeholders to achieve this objective,” Sinha stated during his address
He further assured that the administration is dedicated to facilitating the return of Kashmiri Pandits, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for their rehabilitation.
Opposition to Mount Pressure on Government
The budget session is set to witness heated debates, as opposition parties—including the BJP, PDP, and Peoples Conference—prepare to question the government on several key issues, such as:
Post-Article 370 governance framework
Reservation controversies and electoral commitments
