Jammu, (DD)In a significant move benefiting thousands of contractual teachers, the government has reaffirmed its policy to regularize Rehbar-e-Khel teachers after completing seven years of continuous and satisfactory service. This decision, outlined under Government Order No. 141-Edu(YSS) of 2017 (dated 27.10.2017), ensures that these teachers will be absorbed as Physical Education Teachers in a staggered manner, depending on the availability of vacancies.
The announcement was made in response to a question by MLA Choudhary Mohammad Akram in the Assembly, where the government clarified that all vacancies arising in the Youth Services and Sports Department will be reserved for the regularization of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers and will not be filled by fresh recruitments. This policy aims to provide long-term job security to these educators, many of whom have been demanding permanent employment for years.
The move has been welcomed by Rehbar-e-Khel teachers, who have been serving on meager salaries and awaiting regularization. With this confirmation, the government has assured them a structured career path, ensuring stability in the education sector.(DD)
