Flags off Buyer-Seller Meet in Srinagar; says Yatra arrangements complete, pilgrims to begin journey from Jammu tomorrow

Srinagar, (DD) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that the government has made all necessary arrangements for the smooth and safe conduct of the annual Amarnath Yatra, which is set to commence on July 3.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a Buyer-Seller Meet in Srinagar, the Chief Minister said, “We are hopeful and praying for a peaceful and successful Yatra this year. All logistical and security arrangements are in place.”
He added that the Lieutenant Governor had earlier convened meetings with political parties and civil society representatives to ensure wide-based cooperation and preparedness. “Adequate security measures have been ensured for the safety of the pilgrims,” Omar said.
The first batch of yatris will be flagged off from Jammu tomorrow. “We are looking forward to welcoming pilgrims in large numbers and pray they return home safely,” the Chief Minister added.
The Yatra will be held under multi-tier security cover, with authorities deploying additional personnel and technology to ensure its smooth conduct across Jammu and Kashmir(DD)
