New Delhi, (DD):In a major move to simplify toll payments and ease travel on national highways, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass for private vehicles, starting August 15, 2025.

Sharing the update on social media, Gadkari stated:

“In a transformative step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at Rs 3,000, effective from 15th August 2025.”

The pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips, whichever comes first. It is exclusively meant for private non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.

The initiative is designed to resolve long-standing concerns related to frequent toll charges at plazas located within a 60 km radius, while also aiming to cut down travel time, reduce congestion, and eliminate payment disputes at toll booths.

A dedicated link for activation and renewal of the pass will soon be made available through the Rajmarg Yatra App and on the official websites of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

The Annual Pass is expected to benefit millions of vehicle owners by offering a seamless, cost-effective, and efficient highway travel experience.(DD)
