Calicut: DD, Presenting the Holy Qur’an is, in essence, presenting the message of peace, and there is no place for terrorism in Islam, said the Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad. Those who create unrest are the ones who distort religion, he added. He was speaking while inaugurating the third edition of the Markaz Qur’an Festival (MQF 3.0), Kerala’s largest academic competition themed on the Qur’an. The Grand Mufti said that the recent blast in Delhi was deeply shocking to the nation’s conscience, and called for united resistance against divisive forces aiming to undermine the country’s integrity and pluralistic harmony.

Organised by the Markaz Academy of Qur’an Studies, the three-day festival witnessed the participation of 900 students from 32 campuses across various states. The event featured discussions and competitions reflecting the Qur’an’s humanistic message, its emphasis on pluralism, and its scientific outlook. Darul Musthafa Sector secured the first place with 273 points, followed by Khalfaan Sector and Madar Sector in second and third positions respectively.

In recognition of excellence in Qur’anic competitions, the MQF Platinum Award was presented to Muhammad Mavoor, while the Gold Award went to Muhammad Bishr Randathani.

The valedictory ceremony, held at the Markaz Convention Centre, was presided over by Abubakr Saqafi Pannur. Sheikh Mehdi Aboobacker Al Hameed graced the occasion as the chief guest. Hanif Saquafi Anamangad, Abdullah Saquafi Malayamma, Abdussamad Saquafi, Usman Musliyar, Yahya Naeemi Moonnakkal, Issudheen Saquafi Pullaloor, Sayyid Uvais Saquafi, and Ubaidullah Saquafi addressed the gathering.DD
