Calls on India to Raise Its Voice Against Unilateral Interventions

Calicut: The Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, has strongly condemned the unilateral acts of aggression carried out by the United States against Venezuela, describing them as wholly unacceptable and contrary to the principles of international law and justice.
In a statement, the Grand Mufti said that the international community cannot afford to remain a silent spectator while a sovereign and independent nation is subjected to coercive actions driven by commercial or strategic self-interests.
He emphasized that such measures, taken at the cost of a nation’s sovereignty and the well-being of its people, are indefensible and pose a serious threat to global peace.
The Grand Mufti of India stated that India, as a responsible global democracy committed to international law and peaceful coexistence, should raise its voice against such injustices and take the lead in international protests opposing unilateral aggression.
He urged the nation to adopt a principled and proactive stance against unilateral interventions.
Warning against the long-term consequences of such practices, the Grand Mufti said that unilateral attacks on sovereign nations fundamentally undermine the concept of state sovereignty and risk dismantling the rules-based international order.
“Today it is Venezuela; tomorrow, any nation that refuses to submit to such pressures may face a similar situation,” he noted, describing the trend as deeply alarming and demanding urgent global attention.
At this critical juncture, the Grand Mufti of India appealed to the global community to stand in solidarity with all people facing aggression and injustice.
He stressed the need for unity beyond political and geographic boundaries and called for upholding the universal values of peace, justice, and human dignity, adding that his thoughts and prayers remain with all those suffering under such acts of aggression.DD
