Grand Mufti of India Expresses Deep Grief Over Death of 42 Indian Umrah Pilgrims in Saudi Bus Accident

Calicut: DD, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad, the Grand Mufti of India, has expressed profound sorrow and shock over the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia that claimed the lives of 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims. The incident took place on Saturday as the pilgrims were preparing to return home after completing the main rituals of their pilgrimage.

Soon after receiving the news, the Grand Mufti contacted community leaders and prominent members of the Indian expatriate community in Makkah and Madinah to gather more information regarding the circumstances of the incident.

In his statement, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, sharing in their immense grief. He also offered prayers for the swift recovery of those injured in the accident.

He noted that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are working tirelessly with local authorities to complete all necessary formalities and provide assistance.

The Grand Mufti urged the Indian community and expatriate organizations across Saudi Arabia to extend every possible support during this difficult time. He concluded with a prayer, seeking divine protection from such tragedies and hardships for all.DD
