Jammu, TDD: Haji Tariq Hussain Keen, State Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a recent candidate from the Inderwal Assembly Constituency, met with Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, at Raj Bhavan, Jammu. During the meeting, he submitted a comprehensive charter of demands aimed at addressing the developmental needs of the far-flung and economically backward Inderwal constituency.
The demands highlighted by Haji Keen included:
- Promotion of the tourism sector to unlock the region’s economic potential.
- Improving educational infrastructure to provide better facilities for students.
- Enhancing road connectivity to ensure seamless transportation across the constituency.
- Commencing work on the Harnie Power Project, a critical infrastructure project for the area.
- Increasing wages for Anganwadi workers and engaging additional Asha workers to strengthen grassroots health services.
- Sanctioning new Village Defence Groups (VDGs) to enhance local security.
Haji Keen emphasized that these demands are vital for improving the socio-economic conditions of Inderwal, which continues to face significant challenges due to its remote location.
The Lieutenant Governor assured Haji Keen that all possible steps will be taken to address these issues and improve the overall system in Inderwal. He commended the efforts made by Haji Keen in representing the concerns of his constituency and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable development across Jammu and Kashmir.
