Handwara, DD, Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Handwara Police intercepted a person moving suspiciously during routine patrolling near HDFC Bank, Handwara.
The individual, on noticing the patrolling party, attempted to escape but was swiftly apprehended. During his personal search, around 07 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
On preliminary questioning, the accused was identified as Jahangeer Ahmad Ganie, resident, resident of Buhipora, Kupwara.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 215/2025 under sections 8/21 of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and the accused has been formally arrested.
