Handwara Police Organises Awareness Programmes on Child Labour, Drug Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking

Handwara, DD, As part of its continuous efforts to curb social evils and promote community awareness, Handwara Police today organised awareness programmes on Child Labour (under the New Criminal Laws), Drug Addiction, and Illicit Trafficking at Hill Park International School, Handwara and Valley Educational Institute, Qalamabad.

During the sessions, police officers from Handwara Police sensitised participants about the grave consequences of drug abuse and illicit trafficking on individuals, families, and society. They emphasised the crucial role of parents, teachers, and community leaders in safeguarding the younger generation from these menaces.

The speakers also stressed the importance of eradicating child labour, underlining that every child deserves education, protection, and a safe environment to grow and contribute positively to society.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and students, who appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the proactive role of Handwara Police in strengthening community-police relations and guiding society towards a healthier and more responsible future.
