Handwara, DD, Continuing its efforts to promote community awareness under the ongoing “Seva Pakhwada (Seva Parv)” initiative, Handwara Police today organised an awareness programme on Cyber Crime, Cyber Safety, and Online Fraud at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Taratpora.

The programme was chaired by SHO PS Vilgam and witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 200 students along with teachers of the institution.

During the session, the resource officers of Handwara Police sensitised the participants about the fast-emerging challenges in cyberspace, including online frauds, misuse of social media, financial scams, and methods of ensuring personal digital safety. The audience was also encouraged to adopt safe online practices, protect sensitive data, and immediately report any cyber-related offence to the nearest police station or cyber helpline.

The interactive session saw active involvement from students and teachers, who raised queries and shared their concerns regarding cyber security. Handwara Police reiterated its commitment to continue such outreach programmes aimed at empowering youth and the community against cyber threats.

Such initiatives not only spread awareness but also strengthen the police-public bond and promote collective responsibility towards a safe digital environment.DD
