Chandigarh: DD, Haryana Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Y. Puran Kumar was found dead at his Chandigarh residence on Tuesday in an apparent case of suicide.
Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur, speaking to media persons, said, “We received information about a shooting at around 1:30 PM near Sector 11 Police Station. Upon reaching the spot, we found that a reported suicide had taken place. The body of IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar was recovered from his residence.”
He said that, “The CFSL team has reached the location, and a detailed investigation is underway. Further details will be available after the post-mortem examination.”
Crime and forensic teams continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. (KNC)
