The overall weather across the region is expected to remain hot and humid with scattered rain and thundershower activity.

Forecast Overview

According to the MET department: August 1–3:
The region will witness generally hot and humid conditions. Brief spells of rain or thundershowers are expected in a few places, with the Jammu Division likely to experience moderate showers.

August 4–6:
The daytime will remain hot and humid; however, light to moderate rainfall is forecast at many locations across Jammu and Kashmir. A significant development is the possibility of intense or heavy rainfall in some areas of Jammu Division, especially late at night or during early morning hours.

August 7–9:
Weather is likely to continue in the same pattern, with humid conditions and intermittent brief showers expected in parts of the Union Territory.

Advisory Issued for Vulnerable Areas

The MET Centre has issued a cautionary advisory for the Jammu region, where heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly in hilly and landslide-prone areas. Commuters and residents in such zones are advised to remain alert and follow local administration guidelines.

Farming Advisory

In light of the expected wet spell, farmers have been advised to complete essential agricultural activities before August 3, when conditions are likely to deteriorate due to rainfall.

Authorities have urged citizens to stay updated with official weather bulletins and avoid travel through vulnerable routes during periods of intense rainfall(DD)
