Kathua: DD, Continuous heavy rainfall has severely disrupted normal life across the Kathua district. From the plains to the hilly areas, relentless rains have caused widespread difficulties for the local population.
Due to ongoing downpours, several parts of the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway have been waterlogged, leading to a breakdown in traffic movement. Long queues of vehicles have been witnessed at multiple locations, and slippery roads have raised the risk of accidents.
In light of the worsening situation, the Kathua Police Administration has issued an advisory urging people to remain cautious. Police teams are using loudspeakers near rivers and streams to continuously spread awareness and advise residents to stay away from water bodies and refrain from attempting to cross them under any circumstances.
SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena, stated that water levels in rivers and streams are rising rapidly due to the heavy rains. He added that the administration is closely monitoring the situation and issuing timely alerts to ensure preparedness for any emergency.DD
