Srinagar, (DD): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, forecasting a spell of heavy rainfall and intense showers across the region between July 14 and 16, with potential risks of flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas.
According to the latest bulletin, the weather will remain hot and humid from July 11 to 13, with chances of light rain or thundershowers at scattered locations. Farmers have been advised to make use of this window to carry out agricultural operations.
However, from July 14 to 16, the region is expected to witness intermittent spells of light to moderate rain at many places, with intense showers and heavy rain likely at a few locations, particularly in parts of the Jammu Division.
The department has warned of possible flash floods in flood-prone zones and landslides or mudslides in hilly and slide-prone areas. Travellers and residents in affected zones are urged to remain cautious during the forecast period.
The weather is expected to improve slightly on July 17 and 18, with partly cloudy skies and brief spells of rain at isolated places.
