Heritage tour conducted as part of Tribal Painting Workshop by Tribal Research Institute, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus

Kargil, DD, As part of the 7-day Tribal Painting Workshop organized by Tribal Research Institute, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus, a special heritage tour was organized for 50 tribal students from various High and Higher Secondary schools of Kargil.

The students were taken to different heritage sites of the scenic Suru Valley to explore and understand the region’s rich heritage artworks and the serene beauty of its natural surroundings.

The exposure toura was aimed to inspire the young artists and deepen their connection with the cultural and natural treasures of their homeland.

The tour was led by Kaneez Fatima, Team Leader of the workshop. Kaneez Fatima motivated the students to observe, document, and draw inspiration from the intricate heritage and breathtaking landscapes, enhancing their learning during the workshop.

The Tribal Painting Workshop and the associated heritage tour are significant initiatives towards promoting cultural awareness, artistic skills, and pride in indigenous traditions among the tribal youth of Ladakh.DD
