Srinagar:DD, Thousands of aspirants scheduled to appear in the JKSSB Junior Engineer (Civil) examination on November 2 have raised serious concerns over travel disruptions caused by simultaneous events and restrictions across Srinagar, urging authorities to reschedule the exam to ensure fair participation.

Aspirants appearing for the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) Junior Engineer (Civil) examination scheduled for November 2, 2025, have appealed to the administration to reschedule the exam in view of multiple restrictions and closures expected across Srinagar on the same day.

A group of aspirants told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the date clashes with the International Marathon being held in the city, for which strict traffic restrictions and diversions have already been announced by the J&K Police.

Additionally, traffic advisories related to the Darbar Move and the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) for upward traffic are likely to make it impossible for many candidates, particularly from South Kashmir districts, to reach their centres, aspirants said.

“The simultaneous impact of the marathon, highway closure, and Darbar Move curbs will make travel to Srinagar nearly impossible for thousands of candidates,” the aspirants said in a joint representation.

They also expressed concern over the revised timing of the exam, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, citing safety and travel difficulties for candidates returning to distant areas after dusk.

The aspirants urged the JKSSB and Divisional Administration Kashmir to consider rescheduling the exam to a “more accessible and candidate-friendly date,” ensuring equal opportunity for all. (KNC)
