Home Minister to Inaugurate Key Development Projects in J&K: CM Omar

Srinagar, (DD) Union Home Minister is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir to inaugurate a series of developmental projects aimed at boosting infrastructure and public services in the region, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, CM Omar highlighted the government’s commitment to accelerating development across J&K, ensuring timely completion of key projects that will benefit both urban and rural populations. “The Home Minister’s visit underscores the Centre’s support for J&K’s progress. These projects will strengthen connectivity, enhance public facilities, and create new economic opportunities,” he said.

The projects slated for inauguration include major road infrastructure upgrades, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Among them is a much-anticipated highway expansion aimed at improving connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar, as well as new initiatives in the power and tourism sectors.

Security has been heightened in anticipation of the visit, with authorities ensuring smooth arrangements for the event. The Home Minister is also expected to review the law-and-order situation and hold discussions with top officials on ongoing development initiatives in the Union Territory.
