Srinagar, (DD):In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, authorities today demolished the houses of two suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants in Tral and Bijbhera areas of South Kashmir.
The residential property of Asif Sheikh in Tral (Pulwama district) and that of Adil Thoker in Bijbhera (Anantnag district) were reduced to rubble using controlled explosions, after their alleged involvement in the Baisaran Pahalgam attack came to light during ongoing investigations.
The horrific assault, which occurred on Tuesday, claimed the lives of 25 tourists—including one from Nepal—and a local resident from Pahalgam, marking it as one of the deadliest attacks in recent times in the Valley.
Security forces have since intensified counter-insurgency operations, vowing swift and decisive action against those involved in harbouring or supporting terrorist activities.(DD)
