IIM Jammu Concludes 13th Batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program with Grand Valedictory Ceremony

Jammu DD, The Indian Institute of Management Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu concluded the 13th batch of its prestigious Nurturing Future Leadership Program (NFLP) with a formal valedictory ceremony held at the Vedanta MDP Centre 14th Oct 2025. The five-day program, conducted from 10th Nov to 14th Nov 2025, is aimed at equipping emerging leaders with the skills, perspectives, and strategic insights necessary to excel in today’s dynamic business environment. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu graced the valedictory ceremony.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu appreciated the thoughtful execution of the program and acknowledged the Ministry of Education, Govt of India for designing an initiative that is closely monitored and impactful. He noted that IIM Jammu, as a young and energetic institution, is committed to delivering excellence, supported by the dedicated contribution of its faculty. He shared that the program offered meaningful learning both inside and outside the classroom, providing faculty with valuable insights by experiencing the process from a participant’s perspective. He highlighted key takeaways such as peer learning, sharing best practices, and applying new models, encouraging participants to extend these learnings into their professional environments. Emphasizing that this program marks the beginning of a larger journey of continuous learning and collaboration, he invited participants to stay connected and engage further with the Institute. He expressed that IIM Jammu looks forward to welcoming them back to the campus in the future.

Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu emphasized the importance of honest feedback, noting that it not only strengthens the program but also helps IIM Jammu design future offerings with greater impact. He observed that the training program had created meaningful connections, friendships, and reflections, adding a unique poetic spirit to the learning journey. He encouraged participants to stay connected for any future collaboration and expressed his sincere wishes for their professional growth, including upcoming promotions and milestones. Highlighting the growing community of faculty participants, he shared a participant’s success story as inspiration and underscored that both individual achievements and collective progress are the true outcomes of the program. He concluded by wishing everyone a safe journey back and reaffirmed that their feedback remains a valuable contribution to IIM Jammu’s continuous improvement.

Prof. P. P. Maheshwari, Program Director, IIM Jammu shared that he had mixed emotions as the five-day program concluded, noting the strong bond formed within the cohort, a bond he hoped to sustain in the future. He highlighted that the program offered a balanced blend of learning and meaningful interactions, reinforcing his belief that leadership stems from intent and action rather than titles. He emphasized that the program was thoughtfully designed to help participants understand diverse dimensions of leadership and prepare for future leadership roles. Each session was purposefully curated and delivered by esteemed faculty, including the Director of AIIMS Jammu, Deans of IIM Jammu, and senior faculty members, covering both hard skills such as marketing, finance, AI, and communication, and soft skills like creative thinking, negotiation, and empathy. He expressed confidence that the program has contributed significantly to the participants’ leadership journey, extended his best wishes for their future endeavours, and placed the Program Report on record on behalf of the Program Directors.

Participants described the program as an excellent initiative in faculty leadership development, offering valuable insights that broadened their perspectives. They appreciated the engaging sessions, well-researched content, and interactive pedagogy that promoted unlearning and relearning. They commended the value placed on time, the quality of delivery, and the seamless communication, coordination, and hospitality of IIM Jammu. The program was praised for thoughtfully blending leadership, empathy, and innovation, creating an enriching and enjoyable learning environment. Many offered special words of acknowledgement, expressing gratitude and a spirit of collaboration. The evening concluded on a memorable note, with most participants sharing shayaris and poems, reflecting the bond built during the program.

The event also featured the certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the successful completion of the program by the participants. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Rambalak Yadav, Program Director, IIM Jammu followed by the National Anthem, marking the ceremonial conclusion.
