IIM Jammu Concludes Supervisory Development Programme for NHPC Executives

Jammu: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu concluded the Supervisory Development Programme for executives of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) with a valedictory ceremony held at the IIM Jammu campus.

The programme was aimed at enhancing supervisory capabilities, leadership effectiveness, and operational efficiency among the participants.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, said that the batch would be remembered for its exceptional engagement and dedication. He expressed satisfaction that the participants not only learned but also enjoyed the programme, and encouraged them to continue sharing feedback to help the Institute further strengthen its offerings. He added that IIM Jammu focuses on practical, industry-relevant learning based on real-life challenges and proven practices, and emphasised the importance of continuous learning and observation beyond the classroom. He noted that this was not the end of the participants’ association with IIM Jammu and wished them a safe return and continued professional success.

Prof. Pranab Ranjan Das, Programme Director, IIM Jammu, remarked that every beginning leads to a meaningful conclusion and described the programme as a two-way learning experience for both participants and faculty, with knowledge sharing and practical insights flowing in both directions. He appreciated the active involvement of the participants throughout the programme and expressed hope that the academic association would continue to strengthen in the future.

The valedictory session began with a programme report presented by Dr. Eshika Aggarwal, Programme Director, IIM Jammu, who stated that the programme addressed evolving workplace challenges by integrating behavioural and functional aspects. She highlighted the use of interactive pedagogy, including group activities, presentations, case discussions, and experiential learning, along with focused sessions on entrepreneurship and advanced AI tools. She added that participation was highly encouraging and that key outcomes included enhanced clarity, improved communication, stronger leadership skills, and effective team engagement, thereby successfully achieving the programme objectives.

Participants stated that the programme was well planned and strategically structured, enabling them to effectively formulate and implement workplace strategies. They appreciated the guidance and support of the Programme Directors and the Executive Education and Consultancy team at IIM Jammu, which helped them reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement to become better leaders. They noted that the learnings would significantly enhance their professional effectiveness. Participants also highlighted the well-organised conduct of the programme, the enriching peer-learning experience with colleagues from across India, and the sessions on leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and the practical use of AI tools for content development and decision-making support.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Garima Saini, IIM Jammu, followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants, marking the successful completion of the programme and reaffirming IIM Jammu’s commitment to industry-oriented executive education and capacity building in collaboration with leading public sector organisations such as NHPC.DD
