Jammu, TDD ,Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu welcomed Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), to further discussions on creating campus-wide artwork that seamlessly integrates Indian culture into the institute’s state-of-the-art infrastructure. The visit aligns with the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between IIM Jammu and IGNCA on 30th Nov 2023, aimed at promoting art and cultural initiatives across the campus.
During his visit, Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) accompanied by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, toured the IIM Jammu campus, which included key facilities such as the academic block, courtyard Nalanda Library, Mandapam Auditorium, smart classrooms, and other state-of-art facilities at the Institute. The discussions focused on designing and implementing artistic works that reflect India’s rich cultural heritage while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the campus.
Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) emphasized the importance of integrating art into educational spaces, stating that art can inspire creativity and innovation while preserving cultural heritage. He also commended IIM Jammu’s vision of integrating art into the educational environment, stating that such initiatives serve as a medium to inspire creativity, innovation, and a deeper appreciation for cultural heritage. He further highlighted that the collaboration between IGNCA and IIM Jammu represents a unique opportunity to create an enriching environment that bridges the gap between modern education and India’s rich artistic traditions, fostering a sense of pride and connection to cultural roots.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, highlighted the institute’s commitment to creating an ecosystem where modernity and tradition coexist seamlessly. He emphasized that the partnership with IGNCA provides a unique opportunity to blend IIM Jammu’s cutting-edge infrastructure with Indian culture through thoughtfully curated art. He noted that by integrating Indian cultural elements into the B-School environment, the initiative aims to not only enhance the campus’s aesthetic appeal but also provide an enriching experience that inspires creativity, celebrates heritage, and fosters a sense of pride in cultural identity.
