IIM Jammu Hosts Samagam 3.0, Annual Alumni Meet, During Its Ongoing 10th Year of Celebrating Excellence

Jammu, 13th December 2025 The Indian Institute of Management Jammu organised Samagam 3.0, its annual alumni event, as part of the Institute’s ongoing 10th Year Celebrations, with the two-day event held from 13–14 December 2025, bringing together alumni, faculty, and students for meaningful networking, cultural immersion, and a renewed sense of community, and the inaugural ceremony was presided over and Samagam 3.0 inaugurated by Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.

The celebration began with Yaadon ka Safar, a guided campus tour that allowed alumni to reconnect with cherished memories while witnessing the Institute’s continued progress and development. This was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and formal inauguration, which included the introduction of IIM Jammu Alumni Association members and an interaction with the Director, Dean and faculty.

Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, emphasized the strategic role of alumni in institution building, highlighted the formal registration of the IIM Jammu Alumni Association and upcoming alumni representation on the Board of Governors as per the new resolution, congratulated the new executive committee members, underscored the significance of being an alumnus of the Institute, called for a vibrant and action-oriented alumni agenda with regular meetings, stronger physical and digital presence, mentorship, regional meets, and accreditation support, appreciated initiatives such as the four-tier mentorship and Bandhan Initiative, urged alumni to take pride, devote time, engage actively on social media, and collectively work towards making IIM Jammu one of the finest business schools, while wishing Samagam 3.0 grand success and assuring full institutional support.

Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, stated that with a formally elected alumni body now in place, the collective responsibility of strengthening the alumni ecosystem lies with every alumnus, emphasized the need for a much higher sense of participation and engagement, and urged all alumni to actively contribute to the IIM Jammu Alumni Association’s initiatives, decision-making, and outreach efforts as integral stakeholders in the sustained growth and development of IIM Jammu.

Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu, described the interaction with alumni as a meaningful moment, acknowledged alumni as ambassadors who set the tone for the Institute, emphasized the need for a stronger physical presence and a deep sense of belonging, noted that association with IIM Jammu is a lifelong professional and personal identity, encouraged alumni to lead with resilience, highlighted the Institute’s manifold achievements in its tenth year, and called upon alumni to support one another and contribute through their actions to shaping IIM Jammu’s future roadmap.

Prof. Vinod C. Durge, Chairperson, Alumni Relations, IIM Jammu, outlined the vision and key initiatives of the Alumni Relations Committee and the formal registration of the IIM Jammu Alumni Association, highlighting professional networking, the Maargdarshan Series, alumni connect platforms, digital alumni cards, alumni portal, mentorship and virtual mentorship programmes, alumni give-back initiatives, startup and internship support, alumni city meets, and entrepreneurship incubation initiatives at IIM Jammu.

The event featured addresses by Prof. Pranab Ranjan Das, Chairperson, SBDU; Prof. Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Chairperson, MBA Healthcare; and Dr. Apurva, Member, Alumni Relations Committee, IIM Jammu, and was graced by Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam; Dr. Ateeque Shaikh, Chairperson, Research, and Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, Faculty, IIM Jammu. The programme also included addresses by the IIM Jammu Alumni Association Executive Committee members Shri Bhavnish Sharma, President; Shri Bishnu Kumar, Vice-President; Shri Sanjay Nalamaru, Joint Secretary (South); Shri Tarun Kumar Gupta, Joint Secretary (East); and Shri Surendra Singh, Joint Secretary (International), followed by reflections from other alumni members.

A networking lunch with Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, facilitated enriching dialogue between alumni and the Institute’s leadership, followed by an engaging Game Zone at the Sports Complex. The ongoing week-long Basohli painting workshop, Rang-e-Milap, organised in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, added a creative dimension to the gathering, while the Scribble and Photoshoot session near the Clock Tower infused the day with lively and interactive moments.

The evening Cultural Odyssey at the Mandapam showcased vibrant performances by students and alumni. A dinner at Annapurna Mess encouraged deeper conversations, leading into Ignite the Past, a bonfire and karaoke night that rekindled camaraderie and nostalgia.

The second day will commence with Spirit in Motion, a series of sports activities at the Football Ground that echoed the energy and spirit of student life. The celebration concluded with a farewell breakfast at Annapurna Mess, marking the end of a memorable reunion.

Held during the Institute’s ongoing 10th year of celebrating excellence, Samagam 3.0 marked a significant milestone in IIM Jammu’s journey. The event celebrated the Institute’s growth and achievements over the years, strengthened alumni bonds, and reaffirmed IIM Jammu’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and lifelong engagement.
