Srinagar, (TDD): Stating that the Article 370 was a contentious issue that would be discussed with the National Conference in future, J&K Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra today said that NC will first hold its legislature party meet and in the Alliance meeting, they will discuss “model of governance to be adopted for J&K.”
Karra also clarified that there was no demand from Congress for the post of deputy chief minister
“I came here to see Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. I wanted to extend greetings on behalf of Congress party. NC will hold legislature party meeting first and then there will be Alliance meeting where we will discuss the model of governance to be adopted for J&K,” Karra said while speaking to reporters at Gupkar here.
Asked about the reports that Congress was demanding Deputy Chief Minister’s post, Karra said nothing of that sort has been demanded. “These are just media speculations,” he said.
Karra while replying to a query what was the Congress stand on Article 370 now that NC has won majority in J&K, said: “We will discuss these issues in future. These are contentious issues and can’t be discussed in a hush-hush manner,” he said- (TDD)
