INAUGURATION OF NAIK JADUNATH SINGH, PARAM VIR CHAKRA MEMORIAL AT KHAJURI, SHAHJAHANPUR, UP

Jammu:DD, In a solemn and grand ceremony held at Khajuri village, Shahjahanpur District, a memorial dedicated to the unparalleled bravery and supreme sacrifice of Naik Jadunath Singh, Param Vir Chakra was officially inaugurated. This momentous occasion honoured the legacy of one of India’s most valiant warriors, whose indomitable courage and unwavering dedication continue to inspire generations.

The prestigious event was graced by Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command and Colonel of The Rajput Regiment, who inaugurated the memorial. He was accompanied by an array of distinguished military leaders and eminent dignitaries, including Shri Hari Shankar Verma, MLA, Jalalabad, and Brigadier HS Sandhu, SM, Commandant of The Rajput Regimental Centre.

The newly unveiled war memorial stands as a beacon of valour, commemorating Naik Jadunath Singh’s extraordinary heroism during the Indo-Pak War of 1947-48. It was during the fierce Battle of Naushera that he displayed exceptional courage, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to duty, ultimately laying down his life to safeguard the sovereignty of the nation. His unmatched bravery, in the face of overwhelming odds, earned him India’s highest military honour for gallantry – the Param Vir Chakra, which was awarded posthumously in recognition of his supreme sacrifice.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed an overwhelming turnout, including senior civil administration officials, military personnel, war veterans, family members of Naik Jadunath Singh, and local residents. The gathering reflected a collective sense of pride, deep gratitude, and reverence for Naik Jadunath Singh’s unparalleled legacy.

In his address to the gathering, the chief guest, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the profound significance of remembering and honouring the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers. He highlighted that the valour, dedication, and patriotism exemplified by Naik Jadunath Singh, PVC, will forever serve as a guiding light for future generations. The memorial stands as a symbol of inspiration for the youth of India to embrace the noble call of service, to protect the integrity and honour of the nation, with the same unwavering commitment and courage displayed by Naik Jadunath Singh, Param Vir Chakra.DD
