Indian Army averts tragedy along LoC in Poonch, recover war like store

Recoveries include anti-personal activator mines, splinter material, shovel, rope and allied material’

MENDHAR: DD, Indian Army has averted a major attempt by the enemy to cause damage by planting explosives across the Line of Control in Tarkundi area of Poonch District.
The explosives, including anti-tank mine, four anti personal activator mines, splinter material, shovel, rope and allied material, were recovered by the troops, who have maintained a high level of alertness since yesterday.
As per the sources, the Indian Army was put on high alert because of the cross LoC attempts of the enemy to cause damage to the army patrols.
“The troops were on patrolling the Line of Control when they noticed carefully planted ware like store of explosives. However, the troops recovered it,” the sources said.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Army, has also been called in the area, and the entire area has been cordoned off by the army, till the filing of this story.
Pertinently, two Indian army soldiers including an officer were martyred in Akhnoor sector recently on the LoC. Accordingly, the Pakistani Army also suffered heavy casualties in reaction from the Indian Army.DD
