Indian Army Concludes Self Defense Training Workshop at Mendhar, Poonch

Poonch:DD, Indian Army successfully concluded a eight-day Self Defense Training Workshop at Modern Institute of Creative Learning, Mendhar, with a vibrant closing ceremony.

The initiative, part of the Army’s continued outreach efforts, aimed at empowering youth, especially women, by equipping them with essential self defense techniques and safety awareness.

The workshop, conducted by Taekwondo Expert Tabasum Nusrat Ali, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 40 students, including boys and girls from surrounding villages.

Over the course of the program, participants were trained in basic and advanced self defense manoeuvres, situational awareness, and confidence building exercises.

The closing ceremony was marked by a spirited demonstration by the trainees showcasing the skills they acquired.

The event also featured motivational talks by community leaders and Army officials, who highlighted the importance of self-reliance and resilience in today’s social environment.

During the valedictory address, the Indian Army lauded the commitment of the participants and appreciated the efforts of the trainers and local administration.

He emphasized the Indian Army’s commitment to promoting safety, empowerment, and inclusive development through such civic action initiatives. Certificates of participation were distributed to all trainees.

The program concluded with a cultural performance by students, symbolizing unity and strength. This workshop not only boosted self confidence among the youth but also strengthened the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the local community.DD
