Ramban: Responding to unprecedented snowfall and extreme weather conditions along the NH-44 axis, the Indian Army carried out swift Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations to assist stranded civilians and tourists.
Troops from the Nachlana Army Camp promptly responded to multiple distress situations caused by heavy snowfall, road blockages, and sub-zero temperatures. Several vehicles were stranded, leaving elderly persons, women, and children exposed to harsh conditions. Army personnel provided hot meals, drinking water, tea, and essential medical first aid, ensuring immediate relief and safety.
In a parallel operation, 32 martial arts cadets of the Warriors Taekwondo Academy, along with their coaches and parents, were stranded near Nachlana due to sudden snowfall. The Army safely evacuated the group to the Nachlana Army Camp, where they were provided warm meals, medical assistance, clothing, and secure shelter until weather conditions improved.
These timely interventions reaffirm the Indian Army’s commitment to selfless service, compassion, and duty beyond the call, standing firmly with the people during times of crisis.DD
