Ramban, DD, In the wake of a devastating cloudburst and intense rainfall that triggered landslides and flooding along National Highway 44 in Ramban district, the Indian Army has launched rapid and coordinated relief operations to assist stranded civilians. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) from nearby Army units in Banihal, Maitra, Digdoul, and other strategic locations were immediately mobilized as part of Operation Sadbhavna. These teams have been working round-the-clock to provide critical humanitarian assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of affected residents and travellers. In severely impacted areas, Army personnel distributed hot meals, drinking water, and essential supplies. Temporary shelters were established to provide refuge from the harsh weather conditions. Additionally, Army medical teams set up first-aid and mobile medical units to tend to the injured and sick. Several civilians requiring urgent care were evacuated to safer zones and provided necessary treatment. Despite challenging weather and terrain, the Indian Army continues to work closely with civil administration, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and disaster response teams to restore connectivity and offer support to local communities. Their quick response has prevented further casualties and brought timely relief to hundreds caught in the crisis. The Indian Army reaffirms its commitment to stand by the people of Jammu & Kashmir in times of need, showcasing its dedication to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. Efforts are ongoing to clear roadblocks, restore normalcy, and ensure all those affected receive adequate aid and support.DD
