Poonch: DD, From the legendary heights of OP Hill to the warm hearts of border villages, the Krishna Ghati Brigade, under the aegis of the Indian Army, commemorated the Diamond Jubilee of the Battle of OP Hill (1965) a timeless saga of courage, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit with festive enthusiasm and Diwali cheer. Marking six decades of this iconic victory, the Indian Army organised a special outreach event to connect the glorious past with the promise of a peaceful future. As part of the celebration, cricket kits, basketballs, volleyballs, footballs, handballs, and badminton sets were gifted to students from six schools across Balnoi, Mankote, Sagra, Dabraj, and neighbouring LoC villages, symbolising the Indian Army’s commitment to nurturing fitness, friendship, and unity among youth.
The event paid a heartfelt tribute to the bravery of soldiers who scripted history in 1965, while also celebrating the ideals of peace, hope, and togetherness that define today’s border communities. Through such initiatives, the Indian Army continues to strengthen its bond with the people and inspire future generations with the values of patriotism and resilience.DD
