Udhampur :TDD, In a significant step towards community development, the Indian Army today inaugurated the Usman Community Learning Centre & Career Counselling Hub in Jhangar, Nowshera, Jammu & Kashmir. The facility, a testament to the Army’s commitment to Operation SADBHAVANA, was officially Inaugurated by Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 16 Corps.
Designed to provide a much-needed boost to educational opportunities for the youth of border villages, the centre boasts a modern library, reading room, audio-visual room, and professional career counselling services. The facility is equipped with high-speed internet, allowing for seamless video conferencing and access to online educational resources. A souvenir shop and snacks corner add to the overall appeal of the centre.
The establishment of this new hub is a significant upgrade to the Usman Memorial, which honors the bravery and sacrifices of Indian Army soldiers and local residents during the 1947-48 War. The event also marked the inauguration of a renovated Usman Museum, a project undertaken by the local Army unit.
By providing quality education and career guidance, the Indian Army hopes to empower the youth of Jhangar and enhance their prospects for a brighter future. This initiative is a reflection of the Army’s unwavering dedication to fostering community development and improving the lives of people in border regions.TDD
