Rajouri: In order to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and Awam and to generate awareness about Road Safety and prevention of road accident among students, an awareness lecture on Road Safety and Preventive Measures was organised by Indian Army at Govt Higher Secondary School, Khawas.
A total number of 51 staff and students witnessed the said awareness lecture.
The aim of the lecture was to sensitise students and citizens about the importance of following traffic rules and adopting safe road behaviour in daily life. The lecture aimed to educate citizens on the importance of following traffic rules and encourage safe driving habits.
The students were sensitised about the danger of reckless driving, overloading, riding without helmets and ignoring traffic rules, which often lead to serious injuries and fatalities. Emphasis was laid on basic road safety measures, such as the significance of wearing seat belts and helmets, avoiding distractions while driving and obeying speed limits.
The real life examples and interactive discussions helped students understand the risks associated with negligence on roads, making the session both engaging and informative.
The interactive session received a positive response, with students showing great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
Many participants expressed their desire for more such awareness programmes in the future, highlighting the importance of road safety education in shaping responsible and disciplined citizens.DD
