Drass, DD, In the lead-up to Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army organised a motivational tour to Lamochan View Point in Drass for 120 students from various educational institutions. Participating schools included Munshi Habibullah Mission Higher Secondary School, Suru Valley Public Higher Secondary School, Army Goodwill School (AGS) Harka Bahadur, and AGS Faroona.
The initiative aimed to foster a sense of patriotism and educate students about the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Army during the 1999 Kargil War. A motivational film showcasing the heroic acts and success stories of Kargil war heroes was screened, leaving a strong impact on the young audience.
Miss Siddiqa Banoo, Joint Secretary of Team Stringmo and a student at Kargil College, delivered a stirring speech underlining the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and paid tribute to the martyrs. Students from participating schools also presented emotional speeches and poems, honouring the valour of the Indian soldiers.
The event featured group performances of patriotic songs, enhancing the atmosphere of national pride and unity. Following a brief high tea, students visited the Kargil War Memorial, where they offered heartfelt tributes to the fallen soldiers.
The motivational tour served as both a commemoration of the heroes of the Kargil War and an inspiring experience to instil values of courage, dedication, and patriotism in the younger generation.DD
