Akhnoor,TDD,In alignment with the Government of India’s “Swachchh Bharat Mission,” the Indian Army organized a comprehensive awareness drive at Jaurian to educate and engage local civilians on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainable waste management.

The event, held under the aegis of the Indian Army’s continued commitment to nation-building, saw active participation from local residents, school children, and community leaders. Indian Army officials led informative sessions on the critical role cleanliness plays in promoting public health, preventing diseases, and creating a clean and green environment for future generations. The awareness drive included lectures, demonstrations, and interactive discussions covering various aspects of hygiene, waste segregation, and the importance of community involvement in maintaining public spaces. Local residents were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices such as proper waste disposal, recycling, and reducing plastic use, in line with the Swachchh Bharat Mission goals.

Speaking on the occasion, the spokesperson emphasized the need for every citizen to contribute to the cleanliness movement, saying, “Swachchh Bharat is not just a mission of the government, it’s a responsibility for each of us. By working together, we can transform our communities into cleaner and healthier spaces. “The Indian Army remains steadfast in its commitment to contributing not just to national security but also to societal development and welfare.
