Diplomat Correspondent

Poonch,DD: In its continued efforts to foster goodwill and provide humanitarian assistance, the Indian Army conducted a comprehensive Medical Outreach Camp in the remote and underserved areas of Marhote and Surankote.
This initiative is part of the Army’s ongoing commitment to nation building and civil-military cooperation under the banner of Operation Sadbhavana.

The camp saw enthusiastic participation from 550 local residents, including elderly citizens, women and children.
A dedicated team of Army medical officers, the Medical Officer of PHC Marhote, paramedics and support staff provided free medical consultations, diagnostic services and essential medicines.
The specialized care was offered in general medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Gynecology, addressing critical health concerns in these isolated communities.
This proactive initiative aims to bridge the healthcare gap in far-flung regions where access to medical infrastructure is limited due to challenging terrain and climatic conditions.
The camp not only reinforced the Indian Army’s image as a people-centric and mission-ready force but also enhanced the trust and cooperation between the local populace and the armed forces.
The local residents expressed deep gratitude for the Indian Army’s efforts in ensuring their well-being, especially in areas where civil health infrastructure is sparse.
Such outreach programs play a pivotal role in strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and the citizens it serves, fostering a climate of peace, development and mutual respect.
The Indian Army reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Marhote and Surankote and will continue to undertake such initiatives to uplift and empower the region’s remote communities.DD
