Jammu, (DD)Amid recent cross-border firing and a deadly IED attack in Akhnoor, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said that the Indian Army is fully prepared to handle any situation along the borders and is delivering a strong response to enemy forces.

Speaking at a sports event in Jammu, the LG emphasized that security agencies have been given clear directives to eliminate terrorism and its ecosystem, ensuring lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Our forces are working in close coordination, and there will be no pause in anti-terror operations. The top priority remains the safety and stability of the region,” Sinha stated.

His remarks come in the wake of rising tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), where an IED blast on February 11 claimed the lives of two Army personnel, including a captain. Additional incidents of cross-border firing in Rajouri and Poonch have left two soldiers injured, while another was wounded in a landmine explosion last week.

Sinha also highlighted the Indian Army’s strong retaliatory actions, which have inflicted heavy casualties on the Pakistani side in response to violations. While the 2021 India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement has largely held, recent escalations signal growing security concerns.

With heightened vigilance and intensified counter-terror operations, security forces continue their mission to neutralize threats and maintain peace along the borders.(DD)
