Udhampur :TDD, Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, conducted a significant visit to the Jhangar area in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on Monday. Accompanied by the GOC of Counter Insurgency Force Romeo, Lt Gen Sachdeva’s tour focused on evaluating the security situation in the region, which holds strategic importance due to its proximity to the Line of Control (LoC).
The visit underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining a robust security posture along the sensitive border areas while simultaneously fostering community engagement. Lt Gen Sachdeva reviewed the operational readiness of troops stationed along the LoC, emphasizing the need for high alertness and rapid response capabilities in this strategically vital area.
During his tour, the GOC commended the soldiers for their resilience, professionalism, and dedication in adapting to the dynamic security challenges of the region. In a significant move towards community outreach, Lt Gen Sachdeva inaugurated the Usman Community Learning and Career Counselling Center in the Jhangar area. By providing a space for learning, skill development, and career guidance, the Army is actively supporting local upliftment, particularly for the youth in an area often faced with socio-economic challenges.
