Indian Students in Iran Relocated Amid Emergency Arrangements by Embassy

Kashmiri Students Among Those Shifted to Qom; No One to Remain in Dorms or Private Apartments

Diplomat Correspondent

Srinagar (DD): In a swift response to emerging circumstances, the Indian Embassy in Iran has arranged for the immediate relocation of Indian students studying at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, including those from Jammu and Kashmir. The move comes as part of precautionary measures coordinated by the embassy.

As per the official communication, all Indian students—whether staying in university dormitories or private apartments—have been instructed to report at Gate No. 2 of the Velenjak Campus by 9:30 AM today. Buses will depart at 10:00 AM sharp to transport them to Qom city.

“No Indian student should stay back in the boys’ or girls’ dormitories or private accommodations. The instructions are to be followed strictly and without exception,” the advisory stressed.

The directive applies specifically to all Indian nationals enrolled in Shahid Beheshti University’s medical sciences programs. The embassy has urged student coordinators and peer groups to ensure wide circulation of the notice so that no one is left behind.

This decisive step highlights the embassy’s proactive role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Indian nationals abroad. Officials have not disclosed the precise reason for the relocation but stressed that it was a preventive and precautionary measure under the current situation.

Further updates are expected as the relocation process unfolds(DD)
