New Delhi:DD, An IndiGo flight enroute from Kolkata to Srinagar made a precautionary landing at Varanasi airport on Wednesday evening after a technical alert prompted the crew to take safety measures.
As per news agency, a sensor malfunction triggered a false fuel leakage warning, prompting the pilot to divert the aircraft to Varanasi as a precaution.
“IndiGo flight 6E 6961, operating on the Kolkata-Srinagar route, made a precautionary landing at Varanasi airport following a suspected technical issue. For safety reasons, the aircraft has been grounded for thorough checks, and an alternate aircraft has been arranged to complete the journey,” the airline stated.
The flight was an Airbus A320neo, according to flight tracking platform Flightradar24.com. Details regarding the number of passengers onboard or further specifics of the technical issue were not disclosed. (KNC)
