J&K Deserves Reparation, Says Minister Javaid Rana

Jammu, (TDD) : Javaid Rana, the Senior National Conference leader and Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest and Ecology, stated today that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had raised the issue of “compensation” for Jammu and Kashmir during his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing the losses suffered by the region due to the Indus Water Treaty (IWT).
Rana explained, “The IWT has been in place between India and Pakistan for many years. Jammu and Kashmir has endured significant hardships due to this agreement. During his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah requested the necessary compensation for J&K’s losses as a result of the IWT.”
It is noteworthy that CM Omar had recently held meetings with Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Roads Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi. Omar referred to these meetings as successful and during a power conference in Delhi, he emphasized that J&K had suffered greatly due to the IWT and deserved compensation for the extensive losses incurred.
Furthermore, Minister Rana assured a public delegation in Jammu, led by Sunil Dimple, that the regularization of daily wagers and age relaxations were top priorities for the Omar-led government, with an official announcement expected soon.
Rana also pledged that the government was fully committed to addressing public concerns and resolving the issues faced by people across J&K, irrespective of their political affiliations.(TDD)
