Zanskar, DD, The Inter-School Tournament 2025, organized by the Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zanskar, concluded today with a grant closing ceremony.
The event, which commenced on 28th of May 2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the region, highlighting their sports excellence and sportsmanship.
Total number of 15 schools, ranging from Higher Secondary to Middle Schools, showcased their skills in Handball and Volleyball, turning the tournament into a grand sporting spectacle here at sport stadium near TRC Padum.
The closing ceremony saw the presence of Hon’ble Councillor Karsha, Mr Stanzin Jigmet, as Chief Guest, incharge teachers from various school of the zone and the participants.
The final match of the Girl under 17 Handball tournament delivered a thrilling performance by Duzin Photang High School and clinching victory against Government High School Karsha, securing a 6-2 win to claim the championship title.
Hon’ble Councillor, Stanzin Jigmet advised the students to participate in all event of sports in school level to show their talent and try to choose as a carrier in their future. He also suggested the incharge teachers to conduct the sport events with the academic classes in schools, so that the students could receive proper coaching and training opportunities.
Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zanskar, shared his valuable views to the guests and participants about the importance and scope of sports. He also thanked the Guests and participants for this successfully concluded the event.
The chief guest along with other guests distributed mementoes and certificates to encourage the winner and runner-up teams.DD
