Kathua:DD, In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Kathua Police has arrested an interstate drug smuggler with a large quantity of charas worth several lakhs.
The police recovered approximately one kilogram of charas from the accused.
SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena, informed that during a checkpoint operation by a team of Police Post Basantpur, the police team stopped a youth named Mukesh, a resident of Jammu, for checking.
During the search, a significant quantity of charas was found in his possession.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had brought the consignment from Punjab and was on his way to deliver it in Jammu.
The police stated that they are coordinating with the Punjab Police to trace the source of the drugs.
SSP Saxena added that efforts are underway to track down others involved in this network, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
This successful operation has once again highlighted the Kathua Police’s firm resolve to continue its fight against drug trafficking.DD
