Srinagar, TDD: Irfan Manhas, former Youth General Secretary of Apni Party in Jammu and Kashmir, and several other prominent members from Shopian have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The joining took place at the BJP headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, and was led by Ashok Koul, BJP General Secretary (Organization) for J&K.
Ashok Koul welcomed Manhas and the new members, noting their decision shows increasing faith in the BJP’s vision for Jammu and Kashmir. He praised their choice as a sign of trust in the party’s commitment to the region’s development.
Irfan Manhas, whose father Zafar Iqbal Manhas previously ran for Member of Parliament, thanked Koul and the BJP for the warm reception. He cited the party’s focus on development and peace as key reasons for his switch, expressing confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the needs of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth will be met.
Javid Qadri, the BJP Assembly Candidate from Shopian, also welcomed the new members. The event was attended by BJP senior leaders, media incharge Adv Sajid Yousuf Shah, and various party workers and supporters, who are eager to work together for the region’s betterment.TDD
