JAMMU:TDD, In a significant breakthrough, a police team of Police Post Pouni Chak today claimed to have apprehended a notorious criminal with sharp edged weapon in SOS area of camp Gole Gujral in Jammu West.
The accused person has been identified as Pawandeep Singh alias Kaka, son of Anoop Singh, resident of Swaran Colony Camp in Gole Gujral Tehsil Jammu West District, Jammu.
Police said that the arrest took place in the SOS area of camp Gole Gujral, Tehsil Jammu West, District Jammu in the evening hours.
Sharing details, police said that during the naka checking at SOS one motorcyclist was signalled to stop who was riding on his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02-BJ-8352 from Bhagwati Nagar towards SOS.
Immediately, the police party stopped him and frisked him. During the frisking, a sharp edge toka was recovered hide in his back.
The seizure of the illegal weapon has raised concerns about his potential involvement in criminal activities in the region.
Further enquiry also revealed that Pawandeep alias Kaka is a habitual criminal against whom number of FIR’s stands registered at various Police Station includes Nowabad, Bus Stand and Domana etc.
Following the arrest, a formal case has been registered under FIR Number 238 of 2024 at Police Station Domana under section 4/25 Arms Act.
Investigations are actively underway to probe further into Kaka’s activities, associates, and any possible links to a larger network. Further developments in this case are expected as the investigation continues.TDD
