Jammu,DD: In a continuing effort to strengthen police-public relations and enhance the visibility of police presence on ground, Jammu Police, South Zone today conducted an extensive on-foot area domination and public interaction drive led by SP South Jammu, accompanied by SDPOs and SHOs of South Zone.
The drive commenced from Wave Mall, culminating at Makkah Masjid, Bathindi covering key public and market areas.
The initiative aimed to ensure visible policing, assess ground deployment, and review the general law and order situation in the area.
Officers also inspected market stretches, lanes, and chowks to instill public confidence and deter anti-social elements.
During the on-foot round, SP South interacted with local residents, shopkeepers, and youth, listening to their concerns and suggestions related to law and order, traffic management, and community safety. The officer encouraged the youth to play an active role in maintaining peace and harmony and to work in coordination with the police to curb social evils such as drug abuse and reckless driving.
At Makkah Masjid, Bathindi, SP South conducted a meeting with local youth, engaging them in a constructive dialogue on issues related to community policing, and drug abuse prevention.
The youth expressed their appreciation for the outreach effort and shared valuable feedback on improving police-public coordination.
SP South directed all SHOs to maintain regular foot patrolling, enhance community engagement, and take strict action against miscreants attempting to disturb the peace and tranquility of the area.
Jammu Police reiterates its unwavering commitment towards community-oriented policing and urges citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police unit for the safety and security of all.DD
