Jammu, (TDD): The inauguration of the new Jammu Railway Division today has marked a transformative moment for Jammu and Kashmir, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha calling it a historic milestone in the region’s connectivity and development.

In his speech, LG Sinha celebrated the long-awaited dream of linking Kashmir to the rest of India via a robust railway network, stating that the achievement under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership was nothing short of revolutionary. “Connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari by rail has been a distant dream for decades, but today it has come true. This project is a monumental step forward and a testament to PM Modi’s commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.

Expressing gratitude to both the Prime Minister and the Union Railway Minister for their special focus on the region, LG Sinha acknowledged their role in ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir received the infrastructural attention it deserved. He emphasized that this railway division would serve as a powerful catalyst for economic growth, improve connectivity, and foster greater integration between the region and the rest of the country.

The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the impending arrival of the Vande Bharat trains, which he described as a symbol of modernity and progress. “The Vande Bharat trains will soon begin operations in Kashmir, raising the bar for travel in the region,” LG Sinha stated. He further added that Jammu would soon boast world-class railway facilities, transforming it into one of the best railway stations globally.

Looking ahead, LG Sinha assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the railway division is just the beginning of a series of transformative developments. “This inauguration is part of a larger vision to revamp the region’s infrastructure, create more economic opportunities, and ensure that the benefits of progress reach every part of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the region’s growth.

The new division will enhance accessibility, streamline the movement of goods, and boost trade and tourism, opening up new avenues for the region’s prosperity. With the successful launch of the Jammu Railway Division, Jammu and Kashmir is poised to enter a new era of improved connectivity and development. (TDD)
