Jammu, DD: Jammu Police, South Zone, continues its drive against crime and public safety violations through multiple actions across multiple police stations. From proactive community engagement to preventive actions on offenders, the actions highlight the police’s commitment to maintaining order.In a proactive community initiative, PP Narwal organized a Drug Awareness Programme at the Community Hall, Channi Rama, Ward No. 49. With an approximate gathering of 19/25 individuals, the session aimed to educate the public on the dangers of substance abuse and the legal consequences of drug-related offenses. The event reinforced the police’s focus on preventive action alongside strict enforcement.Furthermore, in a bid to curb the sale of illicit drugs, ICPP Bhatindi and SHO PS Channi Himmat conducted inspections of medical shops in their respective jurisdictions. These inspections were aimed at identifying any illegal sale of pharmaceutical drugs, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and sending a strong message against drug abuse.Traffic enforcements remained a priority, with multiple units of South Zone maintaining stringent checks on Motor Vehicle violations along with taking other measures: • PS Gangyal: 05 vehicles Challaned under MV Act, 02 persons fined under COTPA act • PP Gadigarh: Registered one preventive action under 39/128 BNSS against a drug addict, seized one bike under Section 207 MV Act, and slapped one MV challan. • PP Sainik Colony: Seized three vehicles for traffic violations. • PP Chatha: Two preventive action taken, two challans and one vehicle seized under the MV Act. • PP Nehru Market: Four vehicles challaned under the MV Act.The measures reaffirm the South Zone’s dedication to crime prevention, public safety, and legal enforcement.
