J&K BJP Calls for Urgent Deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, warns of security risks

Illegal residents can’t be entitled for facilities: Chief Spokesman Sunil Sethi

Jammu, TDD,Senior BJP leader and Jammu and Kashmir party’s chief spokesman Advocate Sunil Sethi today demanded the immediate deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis residing in Jammu stating that these people are “illegal intruders” not entitled for any facility.

Speaking at a press conference in Jammu, Sethi alleged that members of these communities had illegally participated in the Urban Local Bodies elections, calling it a direct threat to the democratic process. “There is clear evidence that these individuals have cast votes illegally. Such actions not only violate the law but also set a dangerous precedent,” Sethi said. He further accused these groups of involvement in criminal activities such as drug trafficking, claiming they are undermining the region’s peace and stability.

Sethi also criticized J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for advocating a humanitarian stance toward these migrants. He questioned Abdullah’s priorities, arguing that such compassion could extend to terrorists. “While humanitarianism is important, it should not come at the cost of the safety and security of our citizens,” he stated.

The BJP leader called on the government to act swiftly to deport the migrants and urged protests across the region to press for immediate action. According to Sethi, their continued presence represents an “escalating crisis” that requires urgent intervention.

The issue has gained traction following earlier remarks by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who stressed the need to treat these communities humanely, urging the central government to clarify its position. Abdullah argued that these individuals should not be left to suffer in cold and hunger while their future hangs in uncertainty-(TDD)
