Jammu, (DD): Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat today visited key forward areas along the International Border in the Samba-Kathua region to assess security preparedness and address rising infiltration concerns.
Accompanied by senior officials, including ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain and officers from the BSF and CRPF, DGP Prabhat conducted a thorough review of border posts, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring comprehensive security measures are in place to tackle potential threats.
During the visit, DGP Prabhat stressed the need for a multifaceted security approach, stating, “We must integrate advanced technology, strengthen manpower, and engage local communities to ensure our security grid remains robust and adaptable.”
The inspection covered key areas such as border fencing, surveillance systems, patrolling strategies, and cross-agency coordination. ADGP Jain highlighted critical measures like increased night patrols and improved intelligence-sharing as key strategies in fortifying the border defense.
In addition to meeting with security personnel, the delegation was briefed on the latest surveillance technology and the ongoing efforts to address any gaps in the border security framework. Senior officers from Kathua and Samba districts shared valuable insights on recent cross-border activities and outlined strategies to ensure the safety of civilians living in vulnerable regions.
Concluding the visit, DGP Prabhat emphasized the importance of maintaining heightened vigilance, given the changing security landscape. He also paid tribute to Assistant Commandant Vinay, honoring his sacrifice by laying a wreath at his memorial.(DD)
