Srinagar, (DD): In a move aimed at strengthening the administrative and strategic framework of the Tourism Department, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed retired JKAS officer Mushtaq Ahmad Rather as a consultant on a contractual basis.
According to the official order issued by the government, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather’s appointment will be effective for a period of one year. The engagement is subject to termination by either party with a notice period of one month, providing flexibility in case of any administrative or personal exigencies.
The order further states that his remuneration will be fixed in accordance with Article 259-A of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations (JKCSRs), which governs pay fixation for such contractual engagements. Despite being a retired officer, Rather will be bound by the rules of conduct, discipline, and appeal applicable to regular government employees, ensuring accountability during his tenure.
Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, known for his administrative experience during his service, is expected to bring valuable insights and guidance to the Tourism Department. His expertise may play a crucial role in advancing policy implementation and promoting tourism-related initiatives in the Union Territory.
The appointment comes at a time when the government is focusing on revitalizing the tourism sector, one of the key contributors to Jammu and Kashmir’s economy(DD)
